1. Check and Reset a Tripped Breaker Once
Sudden power loss in one room often means a breaker opened to protect the circuit. At the panel, keep hands dry, stand to the side, and look for a breaker stuck between ON and OFF. Move it fully to OFF, then firmly to ON.

2. Reset GFCI Outlets in Wet Locations
Kitchens, bathrooms, garages, unfinished basements, and outdoor receptacles often use GFCI protection. A tripped GFCI can kill power to that outlet and sometimes to others downstream. Press RESET after unplugging devices on that circuit. Test with a known-good lamp or phone charger.
