Where the work actually is
the West Loop, Chicago is organized around Randolph Street, Fulton Market, Halsted, and Ogden. The buildings are warehouse lofts, new high-rises, and restaurant buildings that used to be cold storage or light industry. STS Electric sends licensed electricians for restaurant electrical from the gear to the dining-room circuits, tenant panels in new towers, and EV capacity in podium garages.
How this job is scoped
A storefront or restaurant build-out gets its own panel schedule: hood, refrigeration, dishwasher or equipment, lighting, and point of sale on separate breakers. Landing all of that on the apartment meter, or on a lighting circuit, fails inspection and trips during service. We trace the house feeder before the equipment is ordered.
Storefronts, commons, and the rest of the block
Beyond the houses, the calls are the Randolph and Fulton restaurant rows, where a hood, a dishwasher, and a bar package land together.
Permits and access
City of Chicago permits and, in the towers, a base-building riser application. Restaurant gas and electrical inspections are separate. We schedule the electrical inspection against the hood installer, not after the kitchen is boxed in.
Before the truck rolls
If a store is in a build-out, keep the equipment submittals. A hood and a walk-in that were never on the drawings are how a panel runs out of spaces.
What fails in these buildings
A walk-in that trips at dinner, or a new-building panel that was never labeled to the unit, is the failure mode on these blocks. Call (773) 721-1111.
